1. How do the vouchers work?
There are four types of subscription voucher packages for i: a 6 month package Monday to Saturday and a 12 month package Monday to Saturday; or a 6 month package Monday to Friday and a 12 month package Monday to Friday.
The vouchers cover Monday to Saturday as i is not published on Sundays.
If you are buying i for yourself then we will dispatch 26 weeks' or 52 weeks' worth of vouchers to you. There will be a voucher for each day of the week that you have subscribed for. You simply take the voucher into a participating newsagent and exchange it for your copy of i. The vouchers will expire after a certain date (this will be marked on the vouchers).
If you have purchased i as a gift, then we will dispatch the appropriate amount of vouchers to your gift recipient.
In both cases we will also send a welcome letter to confirm when the subscription will start and end, and to reiterate how the voucher system works.
2. Can I use my vouchers at any newsagent?
The majority of retailers will accept i vouchers. If you have any queries or comments regarding the distribution of i in your local area, please email email@example.com.
3. Can I have i delivered?
A lot of local retailers offer their own delivery services, and many of our customers receive their papers in this way. This is not managed by i, but by people liaising with their own newsagent. Some have very large delivery ranges - up to 20 miles in some rural areas. We would recommend that you contact your most local delivering newsagent directly, and find out his or her charges for the delivery of papers. If they do not offer a delivery service, they may be able to recommend another retailer that does.
4. How do I find my nearest i retailer?
The majority of retailers now stock i. If you have any difficulty finding your nearest outlet we would be happy to help you, just email your query, including your address and postcode, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
5. Will my newsagent lose out if I take out a voucher subscription?
No, they receive the same amount of money as they would if you paid for your newspaper normally and they also receive a handling fee per voucher to cover their costs.
We do not advise you to hand all of your vouchers to your newsagent in advance, as we will normally be unable to replace your vouchers if they are lost or misplaced by a third party.
6. What happens if I go on holiday?
i vouchers can be used in most places in the UK, so if you are travelling within this country, simply take your i vouchers with you. Unfortunately, i is not published abroad, but you can give your i vouchers to a friend or relative to use while you are away.
7. Who will debit my account if I subscribe?
i is owned by Independent Print Ltd, and your account will be debited by "Independent Print Ltd".
8. What happens if I don't want to sign up online, and would prefer to subscribe by post?
We can accept cheques, made payable to Independent Print Ltd. If you would like to subscribe by post, please complete the order form found here and send it with a cheque for £45 (12 months Mon-Sat), £35 (12 months Mon-Fri), £25 (6 months Mon-Sat) or £20 (6 months Mon-Fri) to Julia Gosling at the following address: Subscriptions Department, Independent and i, 2 Derry Street, London W8 5HF.
9. What happens if I change my mind?
If you wish to cancel your subscription, you have 14 days from receipt of your i vouchers to cancel. Simply send your pack of unused i vouchers back to us with a covering letter, including your customer reference number, and we will refund your payment. Unfortunately we cannot refund your payment until we receive your vouchers back.
10. What happens when my vouchers run out?
We will contact you towards the end of your subscription period, and ask if you would like to renew.
11. Can I read i on my iPad?
Yes. i is available as an iPad app. You may purchase this app separately through iTunes, at a cost of £4.99 a month. For more details, click here. The app is not part of your print subscription. If you have any questions about the iPad app, please email us on email@example.com.
